It’s A Dare!
I dare you to walk out onto your turf lawn and just sit on the sodded turf for a moment. Run your fingers through that sod turf grass - what do you feel? What songbirds do you hear? Do you see evidence of beautiful pollinators? Today, our lawns have little in common with the plant communities that existed here historically, and our shared connection with the natural world is but a faint whisper.

As a garden designer and landscaper, the responsibility lies first with myself and those in this industry to advocate and lead by example when it comes to healthy best practices. Care for the environment must be at the forefront of our landscaping work. The Memphis area is ripe for this bold approach to our lawns that incorporates beautiful and healthy shared spaces for all. We’ll help you dream it and build it. The time is now.

SongBird.

We can help you eliminate or reduce the costs of weekly mowing, chemical spraying, water waste, and unnecessary soil inputs/amendments. We will increase the productive value of your lawn through the use of resilient garden plantings that support our wildlife, environment, and soil.

Before and After

Pictured here is a current Germantown, TN lawn conversion newly underway that replaces turf lawn with stunning meadow grasses and perennial plants useful for pollinators. The garden shown in the photo to the right features grasses found in our regional grasslands (Schizachyrium scoparium, Eragrostis spectabilis, Bouteloua curtipendula, and Carex brevior), which along with perennial plants provide amazing color, texture, and movement. Stunning in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. No mowing, reduced watering, and no chemicals.
